Undergraduate and Graduate Students are eligible to enter the 2nd Annual Art Department’s annual Student Show, its jury and the judging for annual Scholarships. Studio Art is selected from a portfolio of works, Art History students from a paper. Beginning this year, students will have three days to deliver works for judging! Plus, thousands of dollars in scholarships are awarded every year from the review of work by Art Department faculty. A distinguished guest artist or art professional will jury the student show, to be presented in the University Gallery in the Baron & Ellin Gordon Art Galleries at ODU.
Portfolios may contain no more than ten (10) pieces total. Anything deemed a “series” must be physically connected in order to be considered as one piece. Studio applicants must also include an artist’s statement no more than 100 words.
Art History students may submit one 6–8 page paper previously written for an upper level art history class, a CV, and a completed application form to professor Anthony Lichi, Diehn 118.
An application form with guidelines is available here (PDF). Watch this blog for further information
