Elizabeth Hope Elwell is proud to present A Portrait of India, a solo art exhibition featuring photography and paintings inspired by her service trip to Chennai, India in 2006. The show runs from May 2–9 with an opening reception on May 2 from 7:00–9:00pm at 1400 Colonial Avenue, Norfolk, VA 23517. Exhibition viewing hours the week following the reception will be from 11-3 Monday-Friday. Elwell’s artwork is meant to give the viewer a glimpse into the hurting world outside themselves in the hopes that it will motivate them towards changing their own world, even one small action at a time. She considers herself a journalist who uses a camera and paintbrush to tell the story of a world beyond an ocean but of a people no different than you or I.
